The cat is finally out of the bag – well, kind of out of the bag, so to speak. The OnePlus 9 series will be officially announced on March 23. As expected, the phones will benefit from a new three-year partnership between OnePlus and Swedish camera maker Hasselblad. And yes, the previously leaked images from the OnePlus 9 Pro hit the nail on the head.
OnePlus hasn’t revealed much about the next phones – in true OnePlus style, it will generate excitement by releasing information leading up to the release date – but we know what to expect from the camera experience. The 9 series (and perhaps even the so-called 9R) will feature a custom Sony IMX789 sensor with 12-bit RAW support. It will also be one of the first smartphones to film [email protected] and the first supported OnePlus phone [email protected] natively.
Hasselblad’s role in relation to the 9 series will be limited to sensor calibration and color adjustment. In fact, from now on, all OnePlus phones will make use of a new color profile – Natural color calibration with Hasselblad.
In addition to the supposedly enhanced cameras, the OnePlus 9 series is expected to have important specifications, including a 120 Hz OLED screen, Snapdragon 888, up to 12 GB of RAM and 65 W fast charging with a charger included in the box.
This time, we hope to see more than just a pair of smartphones; the 9R / 9E rumor and the clock can also get display time during the event. If you want to hear the announcement, sign up here. As always, OnePlus has also opened apps for The Lab if you are interested in being one of the first people to check out upcoming devices.
OnePlus 9 series colorways
