OnePlus CEO Lau talks about photography with his new iconic partner, Hasselblad (VIDEO)

Hasselblad has one of the best reputations in the world of photography and its cameras are used by several professionals. We already know that thanks to a partnership with Hasselblad, OnePlus hopes to take its camera game to new heights. The first step will be to deliver more vibrant and dynamic colors and give professionals more options when it comes to post-editing. According to OnePlus, “Hasselblad Camera for Mobile will also offer enhanced HDR video recording, as well as support for 4K 120FPS and 8K 30FPS video capture.”

One of the biggest names in photography is coming to OnePlus

At the end of last week, OnePlus has released a video called “Behind the Lens”, which discusses what is going on between the phone manufacturer and the iconic camera company behind the scenes. The video, which weighs 1 minute and 50 seconds, is narrated by OnePlus founder, CEO and product director, Pete Lau. At the beginning of the video, Lau states that “photography is an essential part” of OnePlus devices.
Interestingly, Lau shows a series of negative comments written by owners of OnePlus 8 (T) complaining about the photos they took with their phones. For example, a The owner of OnePlus 8T wrote “You need to improve your camera module in 8T, it’s the same as 8. A little disappointing.” Another owner of OnePlus said: “I feel that when I shoot in a landscape, the sky is not merging, the shades of blue (are) very low, it would be great if you fix it.” Another message said: “Unnatural color tone. One Plus, fix it.” Let’s take one last example. A One Plus user asked Lau to give them a choice of “vigorous colors” or natural colors. The man asked, “Cheap phones have, why not the main killers?”
Lau said that this year, One Plus decided to “work with a real heavyweight partner”. That partner, of course, is Hasselblad and Lau says that the goal is “to create a new reference in mobile photography”. The video shows some pictures taken with a Hasselblad camera and the founder of OnePlus notes that the 80 years of experience that Hasselblad has will reach the OnePlus 9 series.

Hasselblad global marketing manager Bronius Rudnickas talks about how to achieve great image quality with OnePlus 9 models. He also mentions that partners were able to create great quality colors in tests and the video shows some examples of photos taken on OnePlus using the Hasselblad mobile camera. Rudnickas says the collaboration with OnePlus will help consumers use the OnePlus 9 series camera to take their best pictures.

We should see the OnePlus 9 series unveiled on March 23 along with the first smartwatch of the outfit. Spec rumors call for the OnePlus 9 Pro to display a 6.7-inch curved OLED panel with QHD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This means that the screen will update 120 times per second, creating smooth scrolling and animation. The 5 nm Snapdragon 888 chipset is under the hood, possibly carrying 12 GB of memory and up to 256 GB of storage. The camera set at the rear can include a 50MP Sony IMX 766 ultra-wide camera, a 48MP Sony IMX 789 primary sensor, an 8 megapixel telephoto sensor and a 2 megapixel macro sensor. THE

The OnePlus 9 is supposed to feature a 6.5-inch flat panel and possibly a plastic frame. It will also be powered by the 5 nm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Both models of the OnePlus 9 series support 5G, have Android 11 preinstalled, charge a 4500mAh battery and offer color options of black, green and silver. Talking about the battery, today we told you that a new report asks the OnePlus 9 Pro to support 50W wireless charging with a 65W Warp charger out of the box. The Pro model can also offer reverse wireless charging. This will allow the user to turn the phone’s screen down on a table and use the actual panel as a wireless charging pad, sharing the phone’s battery to help charge a Qi-compatible device. This can include a phone, a smartwatch and a wireless charging case for real wireless headphones.
