‘OnePlus Band’ fitness tracker reportedly arriving in 2021

OnePlus fans have been demanding a company smartwatch for years and 2021 will be the year they finally deliver it. Before that happens, though, the fitness tracker “OnePlus Band” is supposed to be set to debut.

The staff of Android Central report that sometime in the first quarter of 2021, OnePlus will launch a fitness tracker that will be called “OnePlus Band”. Apparently, it is a device separate from the company’s next smartwatch, which offers a basic experience and focused on fitness.

This “OnePlus Band” is a competitor of the Xiaomi Mi Band series that we discussed earlier. Our Damien Wilde called the latest Xiaomi Mi Band 5 a “winning formula” that offers good functionality for a very low price. OnePlus’ fitness tracker will apparently try to use the same formula for around $ 40 or more, while using an OLED screen, which offers water resistance and battery life of several days, while being able to track basic fitness statistics.

It is unclear whether this means that the fitness tracker and smartwatch will be announced by OnePlus at the same time, but sensibly, this fitness tracker will debut in India before heading to other regions. The report states that a launch in January or February is possible based on the information received, which implies that the fitness tracker can arrive well before the OnePlus 9 launch event.
