In a relatively short space of time, OnePlus has quickly become a household name on the mobile scene for its high-spec, well-designed handsets, available at affordable prices.
Rivaling even companies like Samsung and Apple when it comes to producing the best smartphones on the market now, the Chinese manufacturer seems determined to further shake up the competition with the launch of its latest flagship device, the OnePlus 9.
Before its official announcement next to the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus Watch on March 23, we put together a list of all the devices we hope to see revealed at the event. This includes both confirmed appearances and a different device that we have a feeling we can hear about.
OnePlus 9 (confirmed)
Obviously, the main focus of the event will be the launch of the company’s new flagship, the OnePlus 9.
Although this marks the first time that the device has been officially unveiled by OnePlus itself, we already have a good idea of the specifications and design that we can expect from OnePlus 9.
In 2020, we received our first sight in what we believe to be the final design of the device. The images show a very clean and modern aesthetic, with a flat screen and a single pierced selfie camera. At the back, it seems that we can expect a triple camera configuration, housed in the upper left corner (as well as the camera’s positioning). OnePlus 8T)
When it comes to colors, we’re less sure, with a leak claiming to have found evidence that OnePlus 9 will be available in Arctic Blue, Arctic Sky and Winter Mist (or Black Gloss and Purple Gradient Gloss if purchased from Verizon), while other claims it will come in shades of standard black, blue and purple.
We think the OnePlus 9 will have a 6.55-inch Full HD + screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage under the hood. According recent official announcement, the device also comes with 50W fast wireless charging and a 4,500mAh battery on board.
When it comes to cameras, we know that the OnePlus 9 will feature a snapper made in partnership with the famous camera brand Hasselblad.

We look forward to the OnePlus 9 can have a 48 MP main camera (producing 12 MP images), an ultra-wide 48 MP and a third unknown camera, although leaked images In other places, I suggest that the device will have a combination of 48 MP, 50 MP and 2 MP cameras, so we don’t know if we will see it.
OnePlus 9 Pro (confirmed)
The highest spec device in the line is the OnePlus 9 Pro, and we had a lot more confirmations about the Pro than the standard phone variant.
To begin with, we know exactly what it will be like, thanks to official images shared by the official OnePlus Twitter account. They reveal a reflective glass design similar to the OnePlus 9, with the addition of a slightly curved screen and a larger camera block with four lenses. It is expected to arrive in the color variants Stellar Black, Forest Green and Morning Mist.

We also know the exact specifications of the OnePlus 9 Pro screen. It will have a 6.78 inch screen with QHD resolution operating at 120 Hz, marking a size larger than its standard sibling. The company’s CEO, Pete Lau, also Twitter to confirm the other screen specifications that we can expect from the OnePlus 9 Pro, which you can see below.

Under the hood, it will have the same Snapdragon 888 chipset that we expect on the OnePlus 9, although there are some debate to find out if it will have the same 8 GB of RAM or 12 GB larger. It is expected to arrive with 256 GB of internal storage.
As for the cameras, a confirmed quad camera configuration means that we expect to see a combination of 48 MP, 50 MP, 8 MP and 2 MP on the OnePlus 9 Pro. Apparently official information suggests that the device will have a tilt-shift camera mode, which was corroborated by Marques Brownlee in a recent tweet.

We anticipate that the OnePlus 9 Pro will come with the same battery capacities such as OnePlus 9. It is also important to note that the company confirmed both devices will arrive with a charger in the box – an interesting difference from recent Apple and Samsung practices.
OnePlus Watch (confirmed)
The company’s first smartwatch effort, the OnePlus Watch, has also been confirmed for launch alongside the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro on March 23.
Many of you said you wanted a watch and, as you may have heard over the weekend, we are making one, to be released early next year. Wishes come true.🎁 https://t.co/H1Fqv9srXjDecember 22, 2020
Unlike their phones, however, the OnePlus did not miss out on so much information about the launch of the smartwatch. Leaks suggested that it will have a circular screen, which means it will not have much in common with the Oppo Watch (which has a square screen), although the two companies often launch similar devices.
However, it was confirmed that the OnePlus Watch does not run Wear OS, Google’s smartwatch operating system. Instead, it will run different software, perhaps its own.
This comes from an officer OnePlus forum post, which also suggests that the device will have an ‘affordable price’, a ‘modern design’ and a ‘first-class user experience’. These statements are worth accepting with a pinch of salt, of course.
OnePlus 9R (rumored)
Although it has not been confirmed to appear at the March 23 event, a recent announcement in relation to a more accessible entry in the OnePlus series it suggests that we could see a third phone launched alongside the OnePlus Pro and OnePlus 9 Pro.
We I was waiting the supposed third phone on the next line to be dubbed OnePlus 9 Lite or OnePlus 9E, but the company revealed in fact, it will be called OnePlus 9R – but it is only launching India, as far as we know.
The device was confirmed by CEO Pete Lau in an interview with News 18, and next to the device’s name, Lau apparently suggested it was an exclusive device from India.
Of course, of the three devices, this was the object of the least number of leaks. The only confirmed information about the OnePlus 9R is that it will almost definitely be the cheapest of the three smartphones, with Lau describing it as a “more affordable premium device in India”.
“Featuring the latest technologies that we consider essential in a flagship, the OnePlus 9R is designed to empower users with smooth scrolling, immersive game controls and a superior viewing experience, effectively bringing our flagship experience to more users” , added Lau.
As a more affordable option, then, we can expect the OnePlus 9R to offer slightly lower specification features in most departments. It is anticipated that your screen, for example, will be the same 6.55-inch Full HD + screen as the OnePlus 9, but with a slightly lower 90Hz refresh rate.
The OnePlus 9R is I thought I had a 64 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, although it is unclear whether it will have two or three lenses. As for its processor, we expect a Snapdragon 690 chipset, along with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, which means it will probably be a little less powerful than the standard model, despite having the same RAM and internal storage.
Interestingly, the OnePlus 9R looks ready to come with a 5,000 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the batteries expected from its bigger siblings. Whether this means that the OnePlus 9R maintains a better battery life at the expense of a greater weight, remains to be seen, although we expected that to be the trade-off.
As we mentioned, the only confirmation we’ve received about the OnePlus 9R is its name, the official initial launch location and the most accessible – so we hope to hear more on March 23.
OnePlus Band (rumored)
Another device that we would like to see at the OnePlus 9 launch event is the OnePlus Band, currently available only in China and India.
In our Review, we said that this fitness tracker comes very close to greatness, considering that it marks OnePlus’s first attempt to break the fitness industry, so we’d love to see it become available in other markets, such as the USA, UK or Australia.
This is not guaranteed, however, and the OnePlus Watch may be the only wearable we heard about during the company’s major launch on March 23.
