One person died and two were injured in an accident between a Denver Fire-owned vehicle and a private vehicle on Saturday afternoon.
A Denver police spokesman said the three victims occurred in the private vehicle. The two injured were transported to a hospital.
The Denver Fire Department tweeted late Saturday afternoon that a fireman was being checked for possible injuries related to the accident.
The accident happened around 1:37 pm on East Seventh Avenue and Speer Boulevard. The police spokesman advised the public to avoid the area this afternoon, while investigating the accident.
The Denver Police determined that the fire engine was responding to an emergency at the time of the accident and had its lights and sirens activated. The investigation is ongoing and the police have not released information about the rest of the circumstances surrounding the accident.
