One dead, four injured in ‘suspicious’ Queens incident

A 72-year-old man was stabbed to death inside a Queens apartment – where three others were found unconscious on Thursday morning, according to police and authority sources.

Sources said the victim was stabbed several times by a 30-year-old man shortly after 8 am inside a house on Hempstead Avenue in Queens Village.

Two women aged 70 and 29 and a man aged 31 were found unconscious and unresponsive in the living room, with no visible trauma, sources and officials said.

They were taken to North Shore University Hospital in critical condition.

The 30-year-old suspect was taken into custody, sources said. He was not hurt.

The list of victims was not immediately clear.

Tenants were shaken by the violence.

“I am very surprised. They are a good family that goes to church, ”said one, who declined to give a name. “I don’t know what happened, but what happened is inside the apartment.”
