Ohio State getting left guard Harry Miller out for Sugar Bowl vs. Clemson

Ohio will not have one of its five offensive attackers on Friday.

Harry Miller, the team’s left-guard, will miss the Sugar Bowl against Clemson. He tested positive for coronavirus, according to his mother, Kristina, on Facebook.

Ohio State and Clemson will release their status report detailing complete lists of players on each team who will not play on Friday approximately two hours before the game starts at 8:20 pm.

For all six games this season, Miller played as a starting striker. He was the team’s left guard in five of them and started in the place of Josh Myers in the center against Michigan State. Although he had a first season of ups and downs as a starter, he won the third team’s All-Big Ten honors through the media.

Without Miller at his disposal in the College Football Playoff semifinal, Ohio State will likely turn to second-back defender Matthew Jones to replace him. He played 79 offensive snaps and started as a left guard against the Spartans when the Buckeyes were losing three regular attackers. Dawand Jones and Enokk Vimahi are another pair of options.
