As far as titles are concerned, Hulu’s new documentary covering the rise and fall of the shared workspace company, WeWork, under the direction of co-founder Adam Neumann, is worthy of Honest Trailers.
Neumann adopted the well-established business model of shared office space, but presented a much grander vision of a company that would change the world.
Neumann’s near-cult reign, which included stage performances, astronomical spending and drinking summer camps, would eventually lead to $ 4 billion in venture capital financing, a $ 47 billion company valuation and the prospect of opening the capital of the IPO business.
But the frantic hype surrounding Neumann’s WeWork would collapse after a revaluation that cut $ 37 billion from the value of WeWork, something that saw the IPO undone and Neumann step down as CEO before entering a long legal dispute with majority shareholder in WeWork, Softbank.
Hulu’s WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $ 47 Billion Unicorn falls on the streaming service on April 2.
