Making speculations true, the makers of ‘Shaakuntalam’ have announced the lead actor and she is none other than actress Samantha Akkineni. Revealing a ‘BIG REVEAL’ motion poster, it said, ‘The Ethereal and Modest .. Shakuntala is Samantha.’
Gunasekhar is the screenwriter and director of the film and is doing it as a pan-Indian project. Although it is an epic love story with historical significance, Samantha will carry the film on her shoulders.
‘Shaakuntalam’ is loosely based on a love affair, secret marriage, separation from the curse and reunion of the immortal love of Dushyanta and Shakuntala. Manufacturers have not yet won Dushyant and may have a popular face because it is a multilingual film.
Mani Sharma will compose music while Neelima Guna will finance the film.
