Office Lens becomes Microsoft Lens and adds new features on iOS and Android »OnMSFT.com

Microsoft announced a redesign of its Office Lens application this morning, with the document scanning application being renamed Microsoft Lens. Notably, the brand changes come with a new Fluent Design icon and many new dynamic features for Android and iOS devices.

The first change the company highlighted today is the addition of new smart productivity features to the camera. The list includes Image for Table, Image for Text, Immersive Reader, Image for Contact and Reading of QR Code. In addition, the company noted that it is also improving the scanning experience for mobile users.

“We’re launching an enhanced scanning experience, allowing you to reorder pages, re-edit scanned PDFs, apply a filter to all images in the document, scan up to 100 pages as images or PDFs, easily switch between locations and the cloud while saving PDF, along with an easy way to identify local and cloud files, ”explained the company.

Microsoft says these changes should make it easier for users to work seamlessly on their documents, photos and videos in various Microsoft 365 mobile applications, such as Office, Teams, Outlook and the OneDrive storage service.

Keep in mind that these new features and improvements will only reach Android users for now, with the iOS app coming out in the coming months. In case you missed it, the company removed Office Lens from the Microsoft Store last month, but it is still available and fully functional on iOS and Android. You can download the latest version of the app today on Google Play or the App Store using the links below.
