Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., should have called Governor Andrew Cuomo earlier for his mismanagement of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes, said Dep. Nicole Malliotakis, RN.Y., on Saturday.
“Honestly, I didn’t think there would be a problem where Alexandra Cosio-Cortez and I agreed so soon. I think she should have done that earlier,” Malliotakis told Fox & Friends.
The FBI and the Justice Department have been investigating since August, when an inquiry was sent to the governor.
“So it should have come from her before, but I’m happy that she’s getting on the phone because the reality is that these families deserve justice, New Yorkers want answers,” said Malliotakis.
CUOMO BEATEN BY EX-DEMOCRAT LAWMAKER: NEW YORK – DISCOVERING ‘YOUR GOVERNOR IS A FRAUD’
Meanwhile, an Albany-based watchdog group says New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home directive was likely responsible for more than 1,000 additional deaths of residents during the coronavirus pandemic, despite several government denials. that his order was the main culprit.
Cuomo’s office was silent about the content of the report released by the nonprofit Empire Center for Public Policy on Thursday and reviewed by Fox News, which is based on information provided to them by the New York State Department of Health (DOH). The governor is facing intense reaction against the scandal, including a federal investigation into how his government is dealing with the crisis.
The focus on Cuomo comes when liberal CNN and the governor’s brother, host Chris Cuomo, give Democrat controversies little or no airtime. The network previously gave Chris Cuomo a free rein to conduct friendly, comical interviews with the governor, who wrote a book on how to deal with the pandemic in the middle of the pandemic.
The surveillance group’s analysis, which compared mortality rates at facilities that admitted patients with COVID-19 discharged from hospitals with rates from others that were not discharged, suggests that Cuomo’s controversial mandate is “associated with” more one in six out of 5,780 nurse deaths across the state between late March and early May.

Malliotakis criticized Cuomo for claiming that his underreporting of coronavirus-related deaths was misinformation.
The congresswoman said the only misinformation came from the Cuomo government, when they “underreported deaths by 50 percent and underreported the number of coronavirus-infected patients who were placed in nursing homes by 40 percent.”
“We now know that 99,000 positive individuals have been placed in 107 nursing homes across the country.”
Malliotakis added: “He is the one who is blocking this information. Therefore, only the legislature, the media and, of course, his chief of staff admitting a cover-up for fearing the Justice Department”.
