NVIDIA to address the shortage of gaming GPU by increasing the offering of the GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card

Video cards for games and GPUs in general are scarce worldwide, but NVIDIA is planning to fight this by increasing the supply of one of its most popular video cards, the GeForce GTX 1650. Reports in China through Channel Gate seem tip that NVIDIA may be increasing the supply of its older conventional Turing-based cards to deal with the shortage in the gaming segment.

NVIDIA reportedly faces a shortage of gaming GPU by increasing the GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card offering

It is a difficult time for players, especially those who have used up their graphics cards to get new ones. The gaming video card market has been plagued by problems caused by cryptomination and also by the inadequate supply of GPUs in general from AMD and NVIDIA. In several reports, the shortage has been said to persist until the end of 2021, leaving many without a high-quality video card suitable for games throughout the year 2021.

A few months ago, NVIDIA decided to increase the supply of its Turing-based GeForce RTX 2060 and Pascal-based GeForce GTX 1050 series video cards for the DIY and OEM segments to streamline things in the mainstream segment. Now the company is planning to launch another of its popular graphics cards, the Turing-based GeForce GTX 1650, in the retail segment. Technically, the card will not be reintroduced since its production has not ended, but instead, NVIDIA plans to increase the supply of its card to meet the demand of several conventional players.

The source informs that the supply of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 is expected to increase in April and more Turing TU117 GPUs will enter the market in May 2021. The video card is not a beast, as it has 896 CUDA cores, up to 1590 MHz clocks and has 4 GB of GDDR6 memory that operates at 12 Gbps on a 128-bit bus interface. The card has a TDP of just 75 W & that gives conventional gamers a very solid reason to buy the card.

Currently, the lowest price you can find is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 for $ 399 USD, which is 2.5 times the suggested retail price of $ 149 USD. The increase in supply may or may not affect prices very much, but in the past two months, the GTX 1650 has received more attention from conventional players. The card obtained the second largest video card share in Steam hardware research and is the third most popular video card. The RTX 2060 and GTX 1050/1060 are also in the top five categories, which makes sense for NVIDIA to increase its supply.
