You were able to spoof the Chrome browser on Windows and macOS by making it believe that it was running on a Chromebook using a User Agent-Switcher extension for months, allowing you to play Nvidia’s GeForce NOW without downloading its official client. As of today, however, you can now download the web application version of the cloud gaming software directly from Chrome – no need for tricks or workarounds!
This means that your compatible Steam and Epic Games titles can be played directly in the browser, regardless of your operating system! GeForce NOW has more than 750 games in its growing library, by the way.
In 2.0.27 we are adding beta support for the Google Chrome browser, which will allow millions of potential new PC players to easily play the latest games on Windows and macOS. (ChromeOS is already supported.) Other platforms may work, but are not supported. Just point your Chrome browser to https://play.geforcenow.com to begin!

In addition, Nvidia has added an easy way for you to create favorites and shortcuts to your favorite games so you can start them with one click. Just go to a game’s options in your GeForce library and select ‘Shortcut’ to add it to your desktop!
They also added support for Apple’s M1 chip with this release, so these newer Apple products will now be supported, although that still requires a download of the GeForce NOW launcher for now. Finally, a touch-friendly version of Fortnite will be released soon, so instead of having a messy buggy game on the cloud console, you’ll soon be able to play with your fingers on Chromebooks, Mac and Windows devices.
My hope is that they will add support for the controller soon after. Having the full Fortnite experience on Chromebooks outside of the Google Play app would be awesome and would attract more players to Google’s light and cheap laptops. Epic Games is aggressively overcoming all obstacles to making your games available anywhere, and all thanks to the power of the open web!
