Nurse, 22, critical after ex hammer attack | Local News

A 22-year-old nurse remained in critical condition at San Fernando General Hospital yesterday after being beaten with a hammer by an ex-boyfriend.

Jada Pierre, a geriatric nurse from Siparia, was beaten and hit on the head on Friday afternoon.

Pierre’s stepfather, Allan Pierre, spoke yesterday with reporters at his home in Siparia.

He said the attack on his stepdaughter occurred shortly after he left the house.

He said she was found by a driver near the forest reserve in Fyzabad, with head injuries.

Allan Pierre said that he and Pierre’s mother left the house around 2:45 pm on Friday.

He said: “Before we left, she told me that she was going to Siparia to buy something to eat. Half an hour after leaving her at home, we received a call from someone in the area saying they just found her on the road with head injuries. “

Pierre was taken to the Siparia Health Center, then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.

At the hospital, she told her mother that an ex-boyfriend saw her along the road near Sanderson Park and offered her a ride in her car.

While in the car, he asked them to come back.

The police were told he was angry and asked her to drive.

When she was getting into the driver’s seat, the man hit her over the head several times with a hammer and threw her out of the car before leaving.

Allan Pierre said his daughter has had an intermittent relationship with the man for the past eight years.

He said: “They’ve known each other since school and this is the only person we knew as her boyfriend. He used to come here and spend the day. He looked like an ordinary guy. He was a very quiet person. He never showed violent tendencies. “

‘I do not know what

was wrong’

Pierre’s stepfather didn’t think she was in danger.

He said that people invented and ended up as a normal part of life.

Pierre said that Jada rarely shared details about their relationship.

He said: “I never saw them having big arguments, but as with any relationship, there would be a disagreement here and there. I don’t know what went wrong in your head to get to that. “

Pierre said doctors at the hospital had surgery on Jada yesterday morning.

He didn’t know what kind of surgery was done, but he was grateful that his stepdaughter was alive.
