(FOX 9) – The number of Minnesotans that have been vaccinated against COVID-19 has already exceeded the number of COVID-19 infections in the state.
On February 2, 475,200 Minnesota residents received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine – 11% of the state’s adult population, according to the latest data from the state Department of Health. A total of 128,694 people are fully inoculated.
More than 21% of Minnesota seniors received at least the first dose of the vaccine.

Minnesota working to connect all qualified health workers to the COVID-19 vaccine
Minnesota health officials are struggling to find all the health professionals who are still waiting for vaccines.
The MDH notified 1,410 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state since last March to 465,176.
The 1,410 cases recently reported were 50,333 tests – a positivity rate of 2.8%. Minnesota’s average 7-day positivity rate is 3.5%. Anything above 5% is a concern for MDH.

Seventeen more deaths in Minnesota were attributed to COVID-19, bringing the state’s death from coronavirus to 6,251.
Nine of the 17 deaths reported on Thursday were on the Twin Cities subway. Nine of the deaths occurred in long-term or assisted living institutions, one in a collective house or residential behavioral health unit and one in a jail or prison.
The deaths included two people in their 50s. The rest of the people who died were 60 or older.
There are currently 369 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Minnesota, compared with 442 the week before. Of these 369 patients, 82 are in the ICU.
