NRP correspondent to address the effects of the pandemic in Europe> Columbia Business Report

Eleanor Beardsley, correspondent for National Public Radio Paris, will address the political aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the European Union in a virtual forum organized by the Folks Center for International Business at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business.

Beardsley, who graduated in 1991 from the Moore School’s Master of International Business Studies program, will share her international perspective on the pandemic at the event entitled “COVID-19 Policy in the European Union: Frontline Notes”. She will discuss Europe’s successes and failures in dealing with the pandemic, different countries’ approaches to the pandemic and how COVID-19 can change life in Europe.

The online forum will be held at Zoom from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm on March 10 and will include time for questions from the public. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is available online.

Beardsley covers French society, politics, economics and culture as part of the NPR Europe reporting team. Before residing in Paris, the SC native traveled to Europe, North Africa, Ukraine and Scandinavia to cover the latest news.

The event is sponsored by the Rachel and Jim Hodges Fund in partnership with the university’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications and the Walker Institute.
