Notre Dame Fighting Irish ended its 2021 recruiting class on National Signature Day, and one last giant piece of the puzzle fit perfectly. At a ceremony at Archbishop Rummel High School in Louisiana, 3-star running back Logan Diggs announced that he was still engaged and would sign with the Irish instead of the LSU Tigers.

Diggs originally committed to Notre Dame in July, and at the time it was the only Irish running back commitment. Notre Dame pushed hard for Will Shipley 5 stars in the spring, and after he decided to choose the Clemson Tigers, the Irish put a lot more effort into a handful of other guys – and Logan Diggs was one of them at the top of his list.
This recruitment was shocked on December 9, when Diggs finally received the offer from the home state LSU Tigers. Diggs has always wanted an offer from LSU, and Tigers are very familiar with the Rummel football program. Notre Dame still expected Diggs to sign at the beginning of the term – and even if he did – he was officially split between the two schools and wanted more time to assess his own situation.
In the end, he remained true to his original commitment and will enroll at Notre Dame in June along with another running back in this class at the 4-star Audric Estime. The two provide a fantastic combination, capable of bringing different things to the position and to the team.
Logan Diggs’s review via Gabe Brooks of 247:
It has the size needed for high volume use at the Power 5 level. Well built compared to the listed size with frame space for more mass. Run violently and finish on the second level. Best as a north-south runner with a cutting ability, but shows occasional swings in the open. Reliable pass catcher off the field. I’m not afraid of contact. Blocker arranged when requested. Flashes with good initial quality, but can improve peak speed. Production and yards per transport suggest the need for greater impact. High floor corridor with heavy-duty potential at level P5. Potential to become a reliable initiator for a major school program.
Notre Dame has now officially signed 27 appointments for the 2021 class and is currently in 9th place according to the 247 Team Composite Rankings.
