Norwegian man says pee pants cash prize has been seized

Your cash prize went to the bathroom!

A college student in Norway peed his pants on camera to win a crazy $ 5,000 contest – but the money was confiscated by customs officials and he never saw a cent of it, he told the Post.

“It is wrong to accept the money I worked for,” angered Dan Holt, a 23-year-old from Haugesund. “I was interrogated by the police, but I can’t blame myself for that.”

Holt first heard about the so-called “5,000 challenge” conducted on Instagram by the Finnish sunglasses company Nopeet in November, he said.

The company asked competitors to film themselves doing the most “insane” maneuver possible and then say “Nopeet forced me to do it!” and post the footage along with a company hashtag, according to a post announcing the contest.

“I thought, I’m going to try,” said Holt, adding that he needed the money. “It looked like fun and I like to try hard.”

A Norwegian named Dan Holt, @igordieseltv, says he won $ 5,000 in cash by entering a nopeet sunglasses contest for doing some messy things in public (smoking a pipe in a Santa suit at a mall, doing pee in pants in public etc.).

To win, Holt dressed up as Santa Claus and took out a bong of tobacco inside a local shopping mall, then threw up and drove his bike to a cold river. He later filmed himself peeing his pants inside the mall while viewers were gaping.

“Everyone’s jaw dropped,” he said. “People were like, what the hell is going on? But the goal was to do the craziest thing possible. “

He posted the wild footage on Instagram and learned on January 5 that he had won and would receive money sent by the company in the mail.

For dramatic effect, the company stuffed the money into a Bible and asked him to film himself opening it, said Holt.

But the “incomplete appearance” package was seized days later by Norwegian customs and Holt was later questioned by Haugesund police for failing to declare a large sum of money, said Holt.

Nopeet defended him quickly, posting a picture of the Bible full of money on Instagram along with the caption “This is UNJUST!”

“The Norwegian authorities did not participate in the #NopeetMadeMeDoIt challenge and are now trying to steal the cash prize that belongs to @igordieseltv, by confiscating it. This is unfair! If they wanted the prize money, they should have participated in the challenge, ”said the company.

The company added: “Our lawyers are already working to sue the Norwegian authorities. “

Holt now says that he simply wants his hard-earned money.

“I didn’t do anything illegal. I was just the winner of the competition, ”he said. “This is a lot of money for me. It would help me to move on in life. “

He added: “I think I now know that I need to declare money – but that’s probably the only lesson I learned … Making the videos was still fun.”

Norwegian Customs and Haugesund Police did not immediately return a request for comment on Thursday.
