According to North Charleston police, the shooting took place just before 2 pm in a “common area” at Northwoods Mall.
Officials said two women and a man were found wounded by a firearm. All three were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Despite not going into details, Lt. Matt Hughes of the North Charleston Police Department said two people were listed in the hospital with “minor, life-threatening injuries” and one with serious injuries.
“Upon arrival, we quickly determined that it was not an active sniper situation,” Hughes said during a news conference.
Authorities released a photo of a person interested in the shooting.

Investigators believe the shooting was isolated.
