Northlake Mall evacuated after reports of shooting – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE, NC – Northlake Mall was evacuated on Saturday afternoon after reports of a shootout, according to police.

A large police presence could be seen outside the mall at around 4pm.

MEDIC confirmed that two people were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries from falling during the evacuation.

Authorities said they found evidence of a shooting, but found no one who was shot.

Police sources told Glenn Counts on Channel 9 that at least one shot was fired. It happened near the back of the mall, near Belk.

“And then somebody said, ‘There’s a shooting, there’s a shooting,’ and I said, ‘Well, everyone, come down,'” said one person who was at the mall.

The police said that no arrests have been made at this time and that they are trying to find the sniper.

For those with family members at the mall, there is a reunification center in the parking lot on the lower floor of Belk.
