North Dakota COVID-19 active cases dropped, zero new deaths reported

Cass de Fargo County led the state with 28 new cases. Minot’s Ward County added 19 new cases. Grand Forks County and Bismarck’s Burleigh County added eight and seven new cases, respectively.

Rural Adams County registered six new cases, while Dickinson’s Stark County and Williston Williams County added five.

Barnes, Billings, Dickey, Dunn, Emmons, Foster, Golden Valley, Griggs, Hettinger, Kidder, Logan, McHenry, McKenzie, Mercer, Morton, Ramsey, Ranson, Renville, Richland, Rolette, Stutsman, Traill and Walsh counties reported four . or less new cases.

The new cases emerged from 4,382 tests, marking a daily positivity rate of 3.2%.

Active cases fell by 138 from yesterday’s number, with a total of 1,984 cases currently active across the state.

Cass County active cases increased nominally over the week, with 434 active cases reported in the state’s largest county on Saturday. The number is a six-fold increase from last Saturday’s, breaking a six-consecutive week-long drop in cases in Cass County.

Active cases in Burleigh County fell 19% last week, dropping from 269 to 218.

Grand Forks County saw its active cases rise 30% last week, rising from 128 to 166. Ward County experienced a slight increase in active cases last week, with 174 active cases on Saturday.

Williams and Rolette counties reported 103 and 101 active cases, respectively, on Saturday. The 71 active cases in Rolette County per 10,000 residents exceeded the state.

The state did not report any new deaths attributed to COVID-19 on Saturday. Since the virus hit the state in March, North Dakota has recorded a total of 1,352 deaths from COVID-19. 1,114 of those deaths list the virus as the primary cause of death, while 238 others list it as a secondary cause or await death records. Of the North Dakota inhabitants who contracted the virus, 1.4% died.

The department also reported 231 additional recoveries of COVID-19 on Saturday. The state’s recovery rate for those who were infected with COVID-19 is 96%.

Current hospitalizations have decreased by nine from Friday’s figure, with 76 residents currently hospitalized for the virus.

Across the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported a total of 21,539,398 cases of COVID-19 and 364,029 deaths attributed to the virus.
