11:15 am on Sunday: The Forsyth County Health Department announced that all vaccine appointments have been completed at this time.
5 pm on Saturday: The Forsyth County Department of Health has announced that another set of about 1,200 appointments will open at 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 30. These consultations will take place on the following Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
To schedule online, click here. The site will send a confirmation email that will allow users to cancel the appointment. It is important to attend the appointment or cancel at least two hours in advance so that the team can schedule someone else.
The health department is not taking phone calls for appointments, but plans to have phone and online appointment options soon.
The Forsyth County Department of Public Health is vaccinating people 65 and older.
All vaccines will be administered at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Education Building, located at 414 Deacon Blvd. The fairgrounds are by appointment only.
12:10 pm Saturday: South Carolina announced its first case of the United Kingdom’s coronavirus B.1.1.7 variant. It is the 28th state, including North Carolina, to identify the highly contagious variant.
The state also identified the South African coronavirus variant this week.
11:50 am Saturday: North Carolina reported 130 new deaths from the coronavirus on Saturday. It is also the first time that less than 3,000 people have been hospitalized since before the beginning of 2021.
