Nokia signs 5G deal with Thai mobile operator

Nokia Corp. said on Monday that it struck a deal in Thailand with mobile operator dtac to provide 5G services in the north and northeast of the country.

The telecommunications equipment maker said that, as part of the deal, which is an extension of Nokia’s partnership with Thailand’s dtac, it will ensure that the operator’s network performance is ready for 5G and will enable faster deployment of 5G services. .

The agreement is set to last three years and the service is scheduled to be completed in 2022, the company said.

Nokia will also supply dtac with its AirScale Radio Access solutions for 4G and 5G networks, which are designed to improve the overall performance of the network, he said.

As part of the deal, the Thai telecommunications company will also make use of Nokia’s network management system, the company said.
