The Cubs are still looking for a second baseman who hits with the left, but if they are going to land someone, it will not be a meeting with Jason Kipnis.
After a solid but unspectacular squad display in 2020 with the Cubs, Kipnis is on his way to join the Atlanta Braves:

With Braves, Kipnis will fight for a place on the bench (this will be a minor league contract) and, in most squads, he fits that role perfectly. All the best for him with the Braves. Definitely a fun and positive guy to have around 2020.

I also can’t say enough good things about the @Cubs org. I absolutely loved putting that one on … and although it was a strange and short season without fans, I am grateful that it happened! I would have loved to try a complete Wrigley in cubbie blue #a day maybe

As for the Cubs, they will likely win on second base with one or more from Nico Hoerner, David Bote, Ildemaro Vargas and Matt Duffy. If they want to bring a left-handed baton to compete, you’re looking to see what happens in Eric Sogard (they’ve always liked him), or if he has anything left over in Neil Walker. I think there is also a guy like Jake Lamb, that you have to hope he can recover from and you would have to try to see if he can play second base.
