No damage to the structure after a fire near Terrace Hill Mobile Home Park in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wisconsin (WEAU) – A major fire forced residents of an Eau Claire mobile park to be evacuated from their homes Friday night.

Eau Claire Fire & Rescue Chief Matt Gunderson said the teams were called to Terrace Hill Mobile Home Park at block 3600 on Seymour Road at around 4:40 pm on Friday, April 2.

About 70 houses in the neighborhood were evacuated and a city bus was brought into temporary shelter. Around 7 pm, all residents were able to return to their homes and were asked to take shelter there due to heavy smoke.

Eau Claire Fire & Rescue said the fire was under control after about 45 minutes, although strong winds made it difficult. The crews remained in place for approximately four hours to eliminate the remaining hot spots.

No injuries were reported and no damage to any structure.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
