No. 4 Aggies travels to No. 9 South Carolina on Saturday

BLYTHEWOOD, South Carolina – Texas A&M’s # 4 equestrian team takes the road to face South Carolina’s # 9 at 9 am Saturday morning at One Wood Farm.

The Aggies (2-3, 1-3 SEC) appear to recover after a 14-6 loss to No. 1 Auburn on 13 February. Texas A&M won a 3-2 flat victory as Rhian Murphy, Kaitlyn Lovingfoss and Mali Selman won their respective points in the event. Lovingfoss completed the scan by earning his Fences point. In the western arena, Maroon & White won victories from Ella Petak in Horsemanship and Ariana Gray in Reining.

In the season, Lovingfoss holds a combination of five wins in Fences (3) and Flat (2). Caroline Dance holds the ledger 3-1 at Flat, which includes two honors for Most Extraordinary Player (MOP). Dance, Murphy and Hayley Riddle (Horsemanship) have two MOPs each, the maximum for one Aggie this season.

South Carolina clashes with a 1-3 record after falling to Georgia, 10-6, on February 6. Gamecocks only participated in competitions this season and defeated Bulldogs 11 to 8, on November 13.

Saturday marks the 26th meeting of all time between the two teams, with the Aggies with a 16-9 advantage. The teams last met on November 5, when then – No. 7 A&M upset then – No. 3 South Carolina, 13-7, inside the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
