No. 2 Volleyball sweeps Oklahoma

Austin, Texas – Texas Volleyball number 2 opened the spring campaign with a straight set victory over Oklahoma, by 25-17, 25-22, 25-22 on Friday afternoon in an out-of-conference game at Austin High School. The Longhorns remain undefeated, improving to 15-0 overall, while the Sooners drop to 3-10.

Logan Eggleston led the way to Texas, recording 16 deaths and hitting .419 in the match, adding eight digs and three service aces. In his debut at Longhorn, Melanie Parra ended with 10 deaths while Asjia O’Neal and Molly Phillips each ended with six deaths each.

Jhenna Gabriel distributed 34 assists and matched Eggleston with eight team co-lead excavations. O’Neil traveled Longhorns with three blocks, with Eggleston and Brionne Butler collecting one each.

The Longhorns lost 18-11 in the final set, but drew 20-20 before taking control of the match.

Texas and Oklahoma will meet again on Saturday at 12pm CT. The game will be closed to the public.
