New Jersey will have a double view of the winter weather in the coming days – the coldest conditions of the months on Friday and then a likely long-lasting nor’easter snowstorm that starts on Sunday and can drop up to 20 centimeters snowfall in the state on Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.
While AccuWeather.com said the storm could blow up to 12 inches of snow into parts of New Jersey by the time it leaves on Tuesday, the National Weather Service’s first projections do not go until 7pm Monday. The storm is expected to last until Tuesday morning, so the next forecast update from the weather service should provide a more complete projection of snowfall.

The current forecast from the New Jersey weather service office predicts that the majority of the state will receive 10 to 15 centimeters, with a pocket in southern Middlesex, west of Monmouth and western ocean counties receiving 15 to 20 centimeters.
The generally strongest hit in northwestern Jersey is shown 1 to 3 inches on Monday night, with the Atlantic and Cape May coastal areas receiving mostly rain.
The Accuweather snowfall forecast map, however, shows North Jersey 6 to 12 inches, 3 to 6 inches along the I-95 corridor. Both forecasts point to uncertainty in the amounts of snow with the storm just days earlier. Meteorologists again noted that a change in the direction of the storm will affect where the rain / snow line is established.

Snow should start to fall lightly on Sunday afternoon and evening – less than an inch is expected before midnight. Expect ranges of moderate to heavy rainfall overnight until Monday as two low pressure systems come together on the coast, the weather service said in its Friday morning forecast discussion.
Strong winds will also be a factor during the storm, with meteorologists saying that a warning could be issued for the coastal area.

In the meantime, New Jersey will face icy conditions on a sunny and stormy Friday. The thermal sensation values are in the single digits starting at 7 am and will not rise much throughout the day – temperatures will reach 20 years, but gusts of 35 to 72 km / h will make it look a little colder.
A wind warning was issued until 4 pm on Friday by the New York office of the National Weather Service for Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Union and Hudson counties.
Friday night to Saturday temperatures will drop to single digits in the northwest areas and will be just a few degrees warmer elsewhere.
Saturday will be sunny and cold again, although the winds will decrease considerably and it will not be so cold. The highs again will only be in their 20s.
