NJ vaccine mega site will offer second doses after consultation confusion, county says

After confusion over scheduling appointments for a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a Gloucester county mega site, officials on Wednesday reminded people that follow-up doses would be available at the facility.

County officials said they worked with the state to ensure that those who took their first shots of the vaccine at Rowan College in South Jersey received the second required dose. The county released an update after obstacles that included errors in a state-run system, leading to double reservations and a limited supply of doses.

“Any individual who received their first dose at the Gloucester County Mega Vaccination Site will be accommodated for their second dose at the site,” the county said in a statement.

Whoever received the Modern vaccine should have already been contacted for the second consultation, according to authorities. Otherwise, the county requested that individuals call the 856-218-4142 coronavirus hotline.

In the case of the Pfizer vaccine, many individuals received office hours via e-mail from the state, according to a statement from the municipality.

“The email would include a date, time and QR code for your second dose. The QR code will be at the bottom of the email, ”said the statement. “If you have not received an email from the state about our second dose of Pfizer, please report it to the Gloucester County Mega Vaccination website on the date on the back of your CDC card between 2pm and 6pm. Your consultation will be honored. ”

The authorities reminded people to take their vaccination cards, which carry the seal of the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, for the second consultation.

“Moving on, all individuals who leave the mega-site will receive an appointment to return for their second dose with our backup system database,” said the Gloucester County statement. “You can still receive an email from the state registration system, but we don’t want to leave that to chance.”

The county’s COVID-19 vaccine hotline is available from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for questions and can be reached by calling 856-218-4142.
