I’m going to have to disagree about the “It’s a portable device first” part, as I think Nintendo has worked hard to make it a real hybrid. Where you can see that they have achieved this, people use it differently. Personally, I hardly use it as a portable device and some games just need the big screen. But others play both ways and some even most often in the hand. That’s the genius of the Switch … Well, part of that. But the price was lower specs, yes.
Anyway, since they can’t compete with the two (in fact, 3 since PC games are growing) powerful beasts, the Switch is a perfect place for unique games. They already have many, but if third parties are smart, and some like Capcom seem to be, more exclusive games should be coming up with the occasional bearing. Astral Chain and Octopath sold more than one million copies each. Nintendo makes great games, but can’t produce enough of them alone, so third parties should take a look at your sales now! It’s time
Nintendo should, in my opinion, work with third parties for the Professional. That way, not only MP4 and BOTW2 will make good use of them, but some third party games may be part of their release. And it would still be in the Switch family and would continue selling for a few years until it was successor.
It’s about providing new gaming experiences for all Switch owners.
This can also mean add-ons, which can be tricky. PSVR worked for Sony, but Kinekt for MS … Not so much. But hey! It’s Nintendo. They like to surprise us.
