Today’s Dealmaster is highlighted by a notable deal on the Nintendo Switch Lite. At the time of this writing, those who purchased Nintendo’s portable video game console for the recommended price of $ 199 can receive another $ 20 in-store credit at no extra cost.
At GameStop and Best Buy, this comes in the form of an electronic gift card that will be sent to you by email after purchase. At Amazon, you will need to use the code “8RLOZI4Z5INC” to redeem a $ 20 promotional credit, either at checkout or through a drop-down list on the Switch Lite product page. Amazon will then apply the credit to your account within seven days. Please note that Amazon’s terms and conditions say the credit will expire 60 days after being applied, so you will want to spend it right after taking advantage of the deal. Either way, this is a good opportunity for those interested in the console to earn a nifty bonus along the way, as traditional discounts on Switch Lite have been extremely rare since the device’s launch in late 2019.
To keep you cool, Switch Lite is the lightest and most portable version of Nintendo’s ultra-popular gaming machine. It offers a 5.5-inch screen compared to the 6.2-inch panel of the standard Switch and weighs about 30 percent less. The main functional difference is that it is a fully portable machine – its “Joy-Con” controllers are not removable, it does not have a vibration motor or support and it cannot be attached to a TV or monitor. The smaller size means that it loses some of the battery life compared to the latest model of the normal Switch, too – about 3-7 hours here, compared to 4.5-9 hours on the larger model. But the rest of its internal hardware is virtually identical to the regular Switch, which means that it can play the same game library without a drop in performance (games that require a disconnected Joy-Con to play).
In addition, the Lite screen has the same 720p resolution as before, adds a genuine d-pad (which is much more comfortable), and its front buttons are smoother and less noisy. Most notably, the whole thing comes out $ 100 cheaper than the larger model. That said, Kyle Orland, senior game editor at Ars, called Switch Lite “the best portable system Nintendo has ever made” in our launch review, so if you don’t plan on using the Switch on your TV, save some money , and I’m not waiting to see what Nintendo’s supposed “Switch Pro” model will look like, it’s a worthwhile purchase.
If you’re not looking to buy a new switch, however, we also have offers on our preferred choice of noise-canceling wireless headsets, excellent indoor security cameras and gaming headsets for those on a budget, Roku’s latest high-end media streamer, Lego kits and more.
