Nintendo Switch Leak reveals the original console design

A new Nintendo leak revealed the original design of the Nintendo Switch, which looks nothing like the final product launched in 2017 and has been the best-selling console in the world ever since. 2020 was a bad year for Nintendo from a security standpoint, with leaks flying out of Nintendo’s files like crazy. The last of these leaks reveals an initial and original design of what would eventually become the Switch and, eventually, the Switch Lite. Interestingly, not only does the original design look nothing like the final product, but it is also closer to the Switch Lite than the traditional Switch.

As you can see below, the original design of the console features a screen that expands beyond the analog sticks in a way that closely resembles the screen of a mobile phone. In fact, the console is basically just a screen, with three small buttons at the bottom that prevent the face from being entirely a display medium.

If the design looks familiar, it’s because it looks almost exactly like a “leaked” image of the console that circulated before it was revealed and ended up being considered a scam.

According to some documents accompanying the leak, the Nintendo Switch would originally support 3D functionality and be compatible with previous versions of the Nintendo 3DS. Apparently, Nintendo also intended to use a 480p screen. Fortunately, he decided against it and made the screen 720p.

Of course, take all this – the images and the pieces of information – with a grain of salt, since everything is information of the type that leaked. At the time of publication, Nintendo did not comment on this leak in any capacity and this is unlikely to change. However, if that happens, we will be sure to update the story with what is provided.
