Nintendo Switch Leak reveals possible return of the 2005 Star Wars game

A new leak from Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite spoiled the possible return of a classic 2005 Star Wars games. Developers and publishers have been bringing their classic games to Switch and Switch Lite en masse and, until now, this migration from the past has included versions of the classic Star Wars games. And now it seems Star Wars: Republic Commando is joining this migration for Nintendo handhelds.

According to Nintendo Everything, update the data to Star Wars: Republic Commando was uploaded to Nintendo’s servers, which in turn suggests that not only is the 2005 game coming to Switch and Switch Lite, but that an announcement and release are on the horizon, or in other words, coming sooner or later .

As noted, Aspypr is listed as the publisher, which is notable because they have already brought Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academyand Episode I Racer for Switch and Switch. Meanwhile, Nintendo Everything also points out that this is exactly how several Switch games have leaked in the past, including both Paladins and Fifteen days.

For those who don’t know: Star Wars: Republic Commando it debuted in 2005 and was originally an Xbox exclusive before it hit the PC a few days later. That said, although the game arrived quickly on the PC, it never made it to any Nintendo or PlayStation platform.

“Chaos broke out across the galaxy,” says an official speech from LucasArts’ tactical first-person shooter. “As the leader of an elite squad of Commandos da República, your mission is to infiltrate, dominate and ultimately annihilate the enemy. Your squad will follow your orders and leadership, working as a team – instinctively, intelligently and instantly. they are your leaders. They are your weapon. “

At the time of publication, Aspyr has not commented on this apparent leak in any capacity. Neither Nintendo nor LucasArts. That said, if that changes, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly.

Interestingly, this leak comes behind rumors that Aspyr is working on an AAA revival of KOTOR. Does this leak give credit to the rumors or vice versa? Well, that’s exactly what Star Wars fans are currently debating.
