for the holidays and can’t connect to the eShop to download new games, you’re not alone. Nintendo announced that it is “aware that players are experiencing errors when accessing the Nintendo eShop and is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
Nintendo went to Twitter to break the news and also said, “Thanks for your understanding and check our Network Status page for the latest updates.” You can click here to check the status of the Nintendo eShop, and we will update this article when the services appear to be working again.
At the time of this writing, when you access Nintendo’s network maintenance information page, there is a warning that players may receive when trying to access the eShop that says: “Unable to connect to the network service . Please try again later. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. “
Considering that today is Christmas, the cause of these network problems could very well be the many new Nintendo Switch consoles that opened today or those with gift cards trying to buy new games.
As mentioned earlier, we will update this article as soon as we know that the problems have been fixed. Until then, be sure to check out our list of the top 25 Switch games to get an idea of what you can play this holiday season and beyond.
