Nintendo Direct: Zelda, Splatoon 3 and everything else announced

Skyward Sword is coming to Switch.

Nintendo

After a surprisingly quiet vacation in 2020, on Wednesday announced a roadmap for the next six months of Switch. It was a storm of new game announcements, with two main revelations. First, a remastered Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will hit the switch on July 15th. Second, Splatoon 3 has been announced – but unlike anything on Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct, it will be released next year.

Mario did not miss the show either. Mario Golf Super Rush, the iconic plumber’s third golf tour, will launch on June 25.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Skyward Sword was originally released for the Wii in 2011, and in July it will arrive on the Switch with modified Joy-Con motion controls, in which the controllers become a sword and shield. Don’t worry: you can just play the old fasion way, with buttons.

Splatoon 3

A rude-looking Splatoon 3 will arrive on the Switch next year. It was the final announcement of the presentation, and the only game shown that will be released next year.

Mario Golf Super Rush

Mario’s third sporting adventure on the Switch, after tennis and the Sonic Olympics, is Mario Golf Super Rush. It will be released in June.
