Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch players will soon have a new way to play, thanks to the latest control design from PowerA! The controller has a design inspired by Nook, Inc. and is an officially licensed Nintendo product. The Nook, Inc. Enhanced Wireless controller will apparently launch on April 1, and pre-orders are now available on Amazon for $ 49.99. Animal Crossing players are very familiar with the standard layout of Nook, Inc. New Horizons, and this controller of channels that look very well. It also offers a more subtle design compared to some of Animal Crossing’s previous controller options!

For those unfamiliar with PowerA’s Enhanced Wireless Controller, the company offers an alternative option to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. The design of the PowerA has a lower MSRP, with some disadvantages as a result. Notably, the controller does not offer Rumble features or amiibo support. As such, players looking to use the next Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration amiibo cards would have to do so while the console is in portable mode, or with a Pro Controller. However, those who do not use amiibo are unlikely to lose the feature.
The PowerA controller features “advanced mappable game buttons”. They do not appear on the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, but are a standard option on PowerA controller versions. The extra buttons offer players some customization options, which may appeal to Animal Crossing players. The mapping of the buttons remains in the controller memory even after disconnecting from the system. More information can be found on the PowerA website here.
Since the launch of the game just over a year ago, Animal Crossing: New Horizons proved to be one of the greatest success stories on Nintendo Switch. The Animal Crossing franchise has always been popular for Nintendo, but New Horizons it far surpassed its predecessors. This success has led to greater support from Nintendo, and it looks like the game will continue to see new items and features added in the near future!
