Nikki Haley accuses Biden of ‘snubbing’ Israel, ‘approaching’ Iran: ‘I really don’t understand the logic’

Former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley accused the Biden government on Wednesday of “snubbing Israel” and “making friends with Iran” in the two weeks that the 46th president is in office.

Haley told Fox News Primetime host Trey Gowdy that Biden’s approach to Tehran is “truly dangerous” for neighboring countries, specifically pointing to his desire to return to the 2015 nuclear deal. Trump withdrew from the deal of the Obama era in 2018, calling him “defective in essence”.

“I mean, you look at the fact that they are trying to get back to the Iran deal … that means you are going to lift all the sanctions that we have imposed on Iran,” said Haley.

The former ambassador attributed the crippling sanctions imposed by Trump to weakening Tehran and limiting its terrorist financing operation in the Middle East.

This “weakened their economy so much that they made the Iranian people protest in the streets against the regime,” she said. “This is what we wanted.”

Biden, Haley predicted, “will reverse the deal with Iran, but it will not ask them to leave Syria. You will not ask them to stop their nuclear program. You will not ask them to stop their missile program … [or] stop financing terrorism, and you will come back to an agreement, and that is literally Obama 2.0. “

But, Haley warned that the “biggest problem” is that Biden’s soft approach would do significant damage to Israel and the Arab countries that supported Trump’s efforts to reduce Tehran’s power and limit its nuclear capabilities.

“You are really hurting our friends, Israel and the Arab countries, who worked with us to get these sanctions back in Iran, who worked with us in an attempt to contain terrorism, “she said.

“The Biden government is snubbing our friends like Israel, but it is approaching enemies like Iran.”

Haley questioned Biden’s failure to contact Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the days following his inauguration.

“Biden has been in office for two weeks. He still hasn’t called the Israeli Prime Minister, one of our closest allies,” she said. “I don’t understand the logic.”
