Nike’s new shoe innovation? No hands needed

The new Nike shoes can help athletes and non-athletes get out of the house faster. The sports equipment company released hands-free shoes on Monday that offer faster clothes and loot.

The new lace-free sneaker, called Nike Go FlyEase, does not require users to use their hands to put on and take off their sneakers. This makes it suitable for people on the move, as well as for a variety of athletes with physical disabilities, according to the compay.

“At Nike Go FlyEase, this translates to serving the widest range of active lifestyles possible – whether the user is the fencing champion Bebe Vio, a student running to class or a father with his hands full,” said Nike in an announcement.

Vio, an Italian fencer, who lost arms and legs due to meningitis as a child and competes in a wheelchair, is wearing prosthetic legs. Putting on shoes is often a time-consuming activity.

“I usually spend a lot of time to get in my place,” Vio said in a statement. “With Nike Go FlyEase, I just need to put my feet inside and jump on it. Sneakers are a new type of technology, not just for adaptable athletes, but for everyone’s real life.”

Sarah Reinertsen, an American Paralympic athlete and member of the FlyEase design team, said that people with disabilities, pregnant women and busy parents were among those who inspired the concept of footwear.

“If you design for the most extreme needs, you are unlocking benefits for everyone,” she said. “If a shoe works for someone who has no hands, it will work for someone who has two hands.”

“We were also inspired by pregnant women who don’t even have children yet, but are barely able to bow in the third quarter,” added Reinertsen.

Previous FlyEase models allow faster entry and exit with the use of zippers and cables, but none are entirely hands-free. The running, basketball and everyday shoes collection was designed to “unlock benefits for all athletes,” according to Nike.

The innovative $ 120 shoe will be available in limited quantities on February 15 and will be more widely available later this year, according to Nike.

Consumers on social media praised the latest style.

“Hyped for the @Nike #GOFlyEase my sister lost the use of her left arm in 2007 and that would be great for her,” Twitter Roman Ruiz user said.
