Nike executive quit after son used credit card to resell shoes

Nike vice president and general manager for the North American division, Ann Hebert, resigned on Monday after reports that she was linked to her son’s resale business, the company announced on Monday.

Herbert was a 25-year veteran at the company.

Last week, Bloomberg Businessweek reported on its 19-year-old son Joe, who runs the West Coast Streetwear resale business. Joe was reported to have used Herbert’s credit card to buy more than $ 100,000 in limited edition shoes to resell.

Bloomberg reported that Joe said his mother was “so important at Nike that she is excluded from what he does”. He added that she never gave him any inside information, like discount codes.

However, Joe asked Bloomberg not to mention his mother in the article and stopped responding after that exchange.

Nike said it plans to announce a new boss from its North American geography soon.

Insider contacted Hebert and Nike for comment.
