Apollo Crews vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E at WrestleMania 37 Night Two will now be a Nigerian Drum Match.
Crews revealed the condition during a segment behind the scenes of tonight’s SmackDown program. He noted that this is an old duel created by his ancestors for people who have been wronged, as a way of fixing things. He said there will be no rules or limitations, just beats so loud that they sound like drum beats. This will essentially be a game without a DQ.
In more news from WrestleMania 37, it looks like there will be 5 tag pairs on Night One to determine Night Two challengers for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax. As noted earlier this week, WWE has plans for a multi-team match on Night One to determine the challengers for Night Two. Tonight’s SmackDown featured a big fight in the ring with champions Jax and Baszler, Natalya and Tamina Snuka, The Riott Squad, Lana and Naomi, and Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke. Carmella watched from behind the scenes and apparently recruited Billie Kay as a partner, but this has not been confirmed.
It looks like Night One will have Carmella and Kay vs. Lana and Naomi vs. Tamina and Natalya vs. Rose and Brooke vs. The Riott Squad, with the winners challenging Jax and Baszler for the titles. It should be noted that WWE has not confirmed any of the games as of this writing.
Tonight’s SmackDown also saw YouTube star Logan Paul accept Sami Zayn’s invitation to WrestleMania 37. There is still no word on what Paul will do for Zayn vs. Kevin Owens, but he could serve as some kind of special executor or special referee.
WrestleMania 37 will take place on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Below is the updated card, along with the two unconfirmed mailings:
