Google wanted a way to encourage Google Photos users to recall their cherished memories, so they asked Nickelback to record a new parody version of their hit “Photograph”. You can hear the 1 minute parody above.
The original “Photograph” was released by the Canadian rock band in August 2005 as the first single from their fifth studio album, All the right reasons, and reached the top of the multiple charts in the USA.
Here is the official music video for the original song, which has over 55 million views on YouTube:
Here is the lyrics of the new song parody, entitled “Google Photos – Look at your photographs”:
Look at this photo
Every time I do that it makes me laughMust have shot another million
My dessert but I don’t know whyAnd that’s where we came from
These matching suits are looking really stupidFalling by the rabbit hole photo
It’s either my hair or just a bowl of ramen.Oooohh, my eyes
Every memory regretting all my hair styles
If you wove it all together, it would go for miles
It’s difficult to braid, it’s time to shave.
Goodbye / HighlightsEvery memory we never have to look for
They no longer need to spread out on the bedroom floor
It’s time to say this, I have to say
Good times, good timesLook at this photo
Every time I do that it makes me laughEvery time I do that it makes me …

“Fifteen years ago, we had no idea that photos on our mobile devices would become an ubiquitous part in all of our lives,” said Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. “When Google approached us with the idea of marrying music with Google Photos, we felt it would be a fun and nostalgic way to give the song a lyrical update and share some of our favorite memories.”
