© Pokémon CompanyPokémon Go developer Niantic is giving eight lucky players a chance to immortalize their avatar in the game through the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event.
To have the chance to win this unique prize, you must send a screenshot of your Pokémon Go avatar via Twitter (don’t forget to use the hashtag #PokemonGOTourContest), as well as the three ‘mons on their dream battle team (only non-legendary or mythical Kanto creatures).
Entries will be judged by Niantic, and the closing date is Monday, January 11, 2021, at 11:59 pm PST (GMT -8). The full terms and conditions can be found here.

If you’ve played one of the main series Pokémon games, you know how exciting it can be to see another trainer on your journey. There’s nothing like testing your own Pokémon against someone else’s, and it’s always fun to see how each Trainer expresses himself with his team! Today, we’re pleased to announce that you’ll soon be able to have that experience on Pokémon GO – and maybe become one of the game’s new Trainer characters!
Event-exclusive Trainer characters will appear on the map during Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
During the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event, you will see Trainer characters on the game map. You will be able to meet and fight these Trainer characters, regardless of whether you have a ticket to the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event. There will even be a special Timed Search that rewards you for fighting these coaches! We hope that finding these trainers on their Pokémon journey and engaging them in battle will help to recreate the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green gaming experiences.
Who are these coaches, exactly? Well, one of them could be you!
How to become a featured trainer character during the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
We will have a competition to decide which coaches will appear as game characters during the event. To participate, simply post your entry on Twitter until Monday, January 11, 2021, at 11:59 pm PST (GMT -8) and include the following elements.
1 A screenshot of your trainer profile that includes your trainer name and shows your avatar’s clothing. two A list of three Pokémon that would make up your team. These Pokémon must be among those originally discovered in the Kanto region and cannot include Ditto, or any Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. 3 – The hashtag #PokemonGOTourContest.
We will be judging your applications based on the following criteria.
+ Creativity of avatar clothing
+ General theme
+ Pokémon team compositionTry giving yourself a theme, like a cool and dynamic Electric Trainer or a fluid and powerful Water Trainer. Maybe you want to show that you are in Team Instinct, Team Mystic or Team Valor? The possibilities are endless – this is your chance to make your mark on Pokémon GO, so have fun with your Trainer character design!
