The New York Giants chose the cornerback with the number 10 choice in the 2016 NFL Draft. Apple joined the Giants after starring at Ohio State and Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, NJ

However, less than three years after joining the Giants, Apple had exhausted its welcome, and the team negotiated it with the New Orleans Saints on October 23, 2018 in exchange for a choice of the fourth round of 2019 and a choice of the seventh round of 2020.

At that point, Apple had been fined and suspended by the Giants for conduct harmful to the team, with All-Pro security guard Landon Collins calling Apple “locker room cancer”.

“Nothing surprises me anymore,” Apple told reporters in New Orleans after the negotiation, recognizing that a change of scenery would help him. “I wouldn’t necessarily say I needed it, but it’s great to have one now.”

Apple stayed with the Saints during the 2019 season.

Last year, he played for the Carolina Panthers.

In 57 career NFL games, Apple has three interceptions, three forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and four loss tackles.
