NFL playoffs: Giants players lose control because of the Eagles’ confused QB exchange against Washington

With the fate of their season sealed, the Eagles no longer had much to gain by playing hard against Washington in week 17. So when they reached the fourth period and decided to pull the maybe-QB-of-the-future Jalen Hurts to protect him from injury, it was not a big surprise.

Well, except for Giants fans, who desperately needed the Eagles to keep trying VERY HARD to win the humble NFC East.

Oh, and Giants players too.

Several players were rooting for the Eagles on Twitter, going to Sunday Night Football, which is unusual, considering the normal animosity between Birds and the G-Men.

So when the Eagles pulled the Hurts to put Nate Sudfeld, who hasn’t played in a game since 2018, the same Giants players who were actively rooting for their online rivals collectively raised their hands in agony:

Amazing.

But, let’s be honest: you couldn’t really expect the Eagles to do something positive tonight if you actually watched the first 15 games.

Welcome to be Eagles fans, Giants. That is the experience. Get used to it or get out of here and do better next year!
