News, rumors and recap of Chicago Bears assistant coach

The latest news around the Chicago Bears assistant coach search is about taking an interest in Philadelphia Eagles assistant coach Duce Staley. Adam Jahns of Atlético was the first to report Chicago’s interest in Staley, who today asked to be released from his contract with the Eagles. Lions are also interested in it.

Staley has been a coach in Philadelphia since 2011 and is very respected and popular with his colleagues, players and fans. If the Bears hire Staley, it is assumed that he will assume the role of running back coach who was left vacant when Charles London left the post to be the new QB coach with the Falcons.

Also exciting for the Bears is passing game coordinator Dave Ragone, who landed in Atlanta as his offensive coordinator.

The Bears also lost defensive line coach Jay Rodgers to the Chargers, and it is reported that he will be the coordinator of the defensive racing game / d line coach.

Yesterday it was reported that the coach of the external linebackers, Ted Monachino, would not return to Chicago.

New defensive coordinator Sean Desai, who received the seal of approval from mentor Vic Fangio, as well as from some former players, could seek to internally fill Chicago’s vague defensive line, outside linebackers and the role of security coach, or he he could possibly rely on his mentor’s experience to help with some candidates.

There are also some defensive coaches that the Bears are attached to and who have not yet been hired, George Edwards and Mike Singletary, so maybe one of them is in line for a role in Chicago.

For those who are scoring at home, see how Matt Nagy’s technical team is positioned now.
