After more than half a century, General Motors changed its company logo to usher in a new era of electric vehicles. The solid blue gradient square is gone with the capital “GM” underlined and in its place is a square with rounded corners and a tiny “gm” with only the underlined “m” – a gradient through the logo, in a way, does this looks like an icon for an Abobe app.
GM comments: “The new GM logo features a color gradient in vibrant blue tones, evoking the clear sky of a future with zero emissions and the energy of the Ultium platform. The rounded edges and the lowercase font create a more modern and inclusive feel. The underline of the “m” connects to previous GM logos, as well as visually representing the Ultium platform. And inside the negative space of the “m” is a nod to the shape of an electrical plug. “
The new logo is new and definitely speaks of a greener future for the American automotive manufacturer. Now we are wondering what this means for the various automotive brands under GM’s umbrella. Can we see the badges updated in the near future?
