Newman’s Bo Bordelon commits to LSU

The LSU 2022 recruiting class took off and, of course, will not slow down anytime soon.

On Sunday, Newman’s Bo Bordelon terminated his recruitment and committed to LSU Tigers and the head coach Ed Orgeron.

The Tigers had offered the New Orleans product a verbal scholarship offer earlier this week, and it was only a few days before Bordelon called Orgeron back and delivered his appointment.

Bo will follow in the footsteps of his father, Ben Bordelon, a three-year-old starter and captain of the LSU football team in the early 1990s.

“Of course, my father played at LSU for a while. My mom went there. My sister is there now. My grandmother, they all love it. Everyone in my family is a Tiger fan. It was a really special offer, ”said Bordelon in a televised interview with Garland Gillen at Fox8 in New Orleans last week.

Bordelon, who plays the left tackle for the Greenies, is LSU’s second state engagement on the Tigers offensive line this weekend. On Saturday, Neville’s Will Campbell, which is ranked as one of the top five candidates for offensive tackle nationally, is also committed to the Tigers.

LSU now has three offensive line strikers committed to the 2022 class, with Bordelon and Campbell joining Mobile, Alabama, point guard Lucas Taylor on the offensive line coach list James Cregg. Tigers have a third offer from Louisiana on the offensive line at Catholic High’s Emery Jones. The 247Sports Crystal Ball favors LSU for the Baton Rouge native.

For Bordelon, he joins an LSU gang that already has many talents from Louisiana. Campbell also boarded this weekend, and the pair will block for one of the country’s best defenders in St. Thomas More’s Walker Howard. Howard, another LSU legacy, committed to the Tigers last summer.

LSU also has two receivers committed to Green Oaks wideout Decoldest Crawford and receiver Edna Karr Aaron Anderson. LSU also has an appointment in the cornerback state of Acadiana Laterrance Welch. Tigers have 19 verbal offers for juniors in Louisiana’s 2022 class, which is the highest mark of Orgeron’s management when it comes to making plays in Louisiana’s best at this stage of the cycle. Now, six of the nine commitments come from the State of Bayou.

The other three appointments in the class are Lucas and a pair of cornerbacks who boarded earlier this month. From georgia JaDarian Rhym committed to the Tigers on January 8, and to the Lone Star State Marcus Scott followed suit on January 20. Welch, the highlight of Acadiana High which is the third cornerback committed in the class, committed on January 24th.

With Bordelon now in class, five of LSU’s nine appointments came in the past three weeks.
