New York woman killed by stray bullet in wild gang shooting

A 37-year-old woman in Queens was fatally shot in the head after being caught in the crossfire of two rival gangs, law enforcement sources told the Post.

Gudelia Vallinas was killed in the Woodside Houses at about 8:15 pm on Friday, at the intersection of Broadway and 48th Street.

Police received a call to 911 from a resident of the housing complex, saying that about five or six teenagers in two groups exchanged shots as they chased each other through the building, according to sources.

When the shooting spread to the street, the innocent bystander became an unwanted target.

The victim lived near 48th Street; she was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

“I heard shots, like 5 or 6 shots. I hear someone shouting that there is a lady lying on the floor,” said witness Zal Alradai.

“And then I left, and all I saw was blood on the floor. It was so loud, all I heard was pop, pop, pop, pop, pop … it was unbelievable. All you heard was cops coming like crazy “said the witness.

A neighbor who heard the shots attributed the violence to the controversial measure to reform the city’s bail bond.
