New York woman discovers empty apartment behind bathroom mirror

Hartsoe finally decided to venture to the other side of his bathroom.

“Curiosity killed the cat, curiosity will kill me,” Hartsoe told NBC in New York. “I can’t not know what’s on the other side of my bathroom.”

The videos showed Hartsoe, dressed in a face mask, headlamp and hammer, twisting her body in the hole, much to the dismay of her roommates.

“My roommates definitely thought I was going to be dead,” she said. “At every corner I walked normally and then I was like [moving her head] check.”

On the other side of the hole was an entire apartment that appeared to be unfinished and unoccupied, the video showed. Garbage bags and an uninstalled bathroom covered the floor.

After investigating the two floors of the apartment, Hartsoe locked the front door of the empty apartment and returned to his apartment through the hole in his bathroom.

“When I get back [my roommates] were excited, “she said.

More than nine million viewers watched Hartsoe’s mysterious journey in TikTok on Friday afternoon.

Hartsoe added that he has not yet contacted his landlord, but he did contact the maintenance department to repair the hole behind his mirror.
