A band of young cyclists attacked a BMW in broad daylight in Manhattan, terrorizing the man and woman in a terrifying ambush recorded on video.
Several burglars surrounded the luxury drive on Fifth Avenue and 21st Street at around 4:30 pm Tuesday, with some hitting the vehicle with their fists and feet and another breaking a bicycle on top of it, video posted on Instagram by Breaking911 shows.
An attacker started to run, jumped on the hood of the BMW and jumped on the windshield, causing it to partially collapse, the video shows.
“This was an animal attack in broad daylight,” said a Manhattan policeman, noting that the vehicle’s occupants, a man and woman in their 50s, were frightened by their lives. “It shows how badly the city has deteriorated and it is better for politicians to get their heads out of the sand and start dealing with these problems before there is nothing left.”
The same group also attacked a taxi shortly after, the source said.
Both incidents are being investigated.
It was not clear what preceded the wild incident, or whether any arrests were made.
